Lamium ‘Orchid Frost Gold’
Lamium = ‘Orchid Frost Gold’
Brand New for 2021.
From the same stable as Lamium maculatum ‘Orchid Frost’ comes Lamium ‘Orchid Frost Gold’. Elegant silver foliage with fresh spring golden-green base tones is a lovely backdrop for the delicate, orchid-pink flowers which are produced profusely in mid-spring and sporadically throughout the summer.
The distinctive, two-toned effect of the leaves is unlike any other Lamium, and it simply glows in the shade. This cultivar also appears to be much more resistant to foliar diseases than other varieties and is also deer resistant.
Lamium is evergreen in mild regions and herbaceous in cooler zones. In both areas, it will benefit from a shearing in the spring to stimulate healthy, new growth.
Lamium makes an excellent, weed-smothering groundcover, ideal for dry shade. Orchid Frost Gold striking foliage adds contrast in mixed containers. It has a tidy habit that is ideal for 4″ pots, combination planters, and mass landscape plantings
