Oenothera ‘Shimmer’
Oenothera = ‘Shimmer’
Oenothera fremontii ‘Shimmer’ has lemon yellow, crepe paper blossoms that shimmer cheerfully in the sun. The foliage is lacy, with very narrow, silvery green leaves. A smaller Oenothera, this one glows with light and warmth all summer, but is surprisingly tough and drought tolerant.
‘Shimmer’ thrives in rockeries, at the front of a dry border or in a xeriscape. It is a great choice for the dry mountain states and very useful in otherwise difficult growing conditions such as sandy, lean soils and roadside beds.
