'Prunella ‘Summer Daze’ was bred in the United Kingdom, distinguishes itself from other cultivars in the genus by its blooms’ size and vivid coloration. This compact plant has semi-evergreen oak-leaved foliage and a mass of large, showy, rich-pink blossoms that are an added bonus to the finely cut foliage that holds its own. Breeder Martin Emmett, of Binsted Nursery, sings its praises: “When it finishes flowering the stalks retain their color well. So, while it peaks at the end of June, it looks very attractive from the end of May through to August.”
‘Summer Daze’, grows 18 inches tall and makes a great indoor house plant which can also be planted into the landscape or into tubs or containers. It is hardy in Zones 4-9 and prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.
